An Army of Judges, #5

You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. (Zechariah 14:5—NIV)

This is the appearing of Christ with His saints, His holy ones, to deliver the Jews from Antichrist.

And as to the deliverance of the Jews from sin:

And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins."  (Romans 11:26,27—NIV)

A third responsibility of the two armies is as follows:

They will drive all wicked spirits from the earth, including the demons, the fallen angels, and the people who are filled with evil.

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. (Romans 16:20

Then you will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things," says the LORD Almighty. (Malachi 4:3—NIV)

May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, To inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, To bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, To carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD. (Psalms 149:6-9—NIV)

The fourth responsibility of the two armies:

They will attract the meek of the earth who were never part of Antichrist's arrogant followers. The meek will see Jesus in them and be saved. Then the Lord's judges with the help of the angels will govern the nations of the saved for the thousand years.

Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. (Isaiah 60:5—NIV)

The prospect of the saved nations of the earth coming to us with their families to be blessed by Christ who will be dwelling in us makes life in a mansion up in Heaven look kind of sick. At least this is how I regard the two options. How about you? I have had enough experience with people as a public-school teacher and principal and a pastor to know people are the only inheritance worth having. Without people to love, backyards full of diamonds mean nothing at all.

Have you ever thought about the following verse?

That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so the world may believe you have sent me. (John 17:21—NIV)

"That the world may believe you have sent me." When the unified and glorified Church appears with Jesus Christ, the meek of the earth (not the wicked) will believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

There are several more passages of the Bible that speak of the coming of Christ with His saints and angels to execute judgment on the ungodly.

To be continued.
