The Daily Word of Righteousness

A Basic Concept, #6

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. (Matthew 10:41,42)

Whoever gives a disciple a cup of cold water will be blessed by the Lord.

Again, we are not stating we can substitute being hospitable toward Christians in place of receiving Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. When Christ is presented to an individual, he or she must accept Him as Lord and Savior. If the person does not receive Jesus he comes under the condemnation of God.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)

God's Purpose for the Nations of the Saved

The nations of the saved will be brought into eternal life in Paradise on the earth. The Kingdom of God has been prepared for them.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (Matthew 25:34)

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

The nations of the saved are the inheritance of Christ and His coheirs.

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen [nations] for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. (Psalms 2:8)

We Christians often talk of mansions, golden slippers, acres of diamonds, and other material goods that do not satisfy here and will not satisfy during the ages to come. The only inheritance worth having is an inheritance consisting of people.

People are our inheritance—people to love and cherish, to teach, to warn, to bless throughout eternity.

Notice the coming of people to the Church:

Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles [nations] shall come unto thee. (Isaiah 60:5)

We shall have an enlarged heart because of the love God will give us for the nations of the saved. We shall begin to know the love of Christ that passes knowledge.

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. (Ephesians 3:19)

We shall continue in Christ's love.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. (John 15:9)

Again, the only inheritance worth having is people.

It is God's intention to bring the nations of the saved into Paradise on the earth. These nations are the inheritance, the joy, the responsibility of the saints.

To be continued.
